Vanessa de Largie is a highly accomplished creative with a career spanning over 30 years. Below is an overview of her extensive body of work. 

ART:

Vanessa’s paintings, drawings and photography have exhibited in art galleries in Brazil, Scotland, England and Australia. After battling wth complex trauma and agoraphobia for four years, Vanessa committed to 365 days of art therapy with the hope of healing her mental health. It worked. Today she is a full time Arts student completing a Diploma of Creative Arts and Health from the University of Tasmania and an Undergraduate Certificate in Fine Art from Curtin University.

ACTING:

Vanessa is an award-winning actress, who has worked on countless productions. She trained at the esteemed Actors Centre in London. Vanessa also studied with the late Oscar-winning film director, Mike Nichols and the New Actors Workshop in New York.

In 2017, Vanessa had the great privilege of performing her one-woman show in London’s West End.

In 2006, Vanessa was the lead female co-star in the TROMA horror film Nocturne, Night of the Vampire. The film screened in the main program at festivals across Europe including the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, the Athens International Film Festival, the Cork International Film Festival, the Portobello Film Festival, the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival and Broet. Vanessa attended all festivals as an international guest.

WRITING:

Vanessa is an award-winning writer and author. She is well-known for her work as a freelance journalist and for being the former resident sex columnist at Maxim Magazine. She also penned a regular opinion column for The Huff Post and The Spectator. 

Vanessa has written over 1000 columns for approximately 60 mainstream media outlets worldwide. Her columns have appeared in: Penthouse, GQ, The Daily Telegraph, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Mercury, iNewsUK, Online Opinion, News.com.au and innumerable others. 

Vanessa is the author of 4 books and ‘a collaborator’ on many. Vanessa wrote a short film (and a play) titled Ted & Silver. The film screened to nearly 300 people at ACMI cinemas in Federation Square and the play was part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival at Gasworks. 

Vanessa’s fierce and in-your-face sex poetry, free verse poetry and erotic blackout poetry has been widely published.  Vanessa has also been a featured spoken word artist at numerous events. She has competed in Poetry Idol twice.  

At age 24, Vanessa wrote a play titled If A Bloke Had Endo (which was sponsored by the original Endometriosis Association). The play was performed at Box Hill Hospital to an audience of doctors, international experts and politicians. Vanessa’s essays have been published in the medical journal, Endo Issues. Additionally, Vanessa was invited to write a column about Endometriosis for the Huff Post.

PODCASTING:

Vanessa is the host of  the  Nothing BUTT Sex podcast which hit 1 MILLION downloads in June 2025. Less than 1% of podcasts globally achieve this milestone.

SPEAKING:

Vanessa is a professional keynote and motivational speaker, who spoke at the 2019 Liberty Friedman Conference in Sydney, organised by the Australian Taxpayers Alliance. Vanessa is represented by Saxton Speakers Bureau – Australasia’s leading speaker’s agency.
