Cary Grant Double Feature at The Astor Theatre

Holy Moly. On Sunday the 29th of April, two Cary Grant films will be screened at the magical Astor Theatre in St Kilda, in their original format.

For lovers of classic cinema and Cary Grant, such as myself, this is an absolute treat.

Nothing beats the experience of seeing old films played on a big screen in all their glory. It’s better than chocolate, it’s better than alcohol, it’s better than sex.

If you are looking for something to do this Sunday night, why not romance your senses and take yourself to the majestic Astor Theatre to see this double bill?

Arsenic and Old Lace starts at 7pm. This is a grand old comedy directed by the great Frank Capra. Starring Cary Grant & Priscilla Lane. Cary has perfect comedic timing in this gem and perfect handsomeness. (George Clooney eat your heart out).

The Philadelphia Story starts at 9.24pm. A classic film by director George Cukor, it brings together three of the greatest movie stars of all time – Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn and James Stewart.

If you can’t handle two films, well you have the option of just seeing one. The prices at the Astor are most reasonable considering it is the most beautiful old cinema you will ever likely walk into.

Prices:
Adult: $15
Conc: $14
Pensioner/Child: $13

Ladies ditch your skinny jeans for some pearls and red lipstick, gents blow the dust off that panama hat. It’s time to doll up, it’s time to journey back to a bygone era when going to the cinema was an ‘event.’

Make it a special evening, with a glass of bubbles before the films or some coffee and cake afterwards.

Have a glorious night peeps.
