Easy Creamy Garlic Prawns Recipe

Could you win a crown for the title of ‘Worst Cook In The World’ ?

Then please read on.

This recipe is especially for the undomesticated gods and goddesses of this world.

Go to your local market and buy half a kilo of prawns.

Then go to your supermarket and buy one garlic or if you’re lazy cook like me, buy a jar of minced garlic.

Also buy a 600ml tub of thickened cream. I like the PURA brand.

Simmer 4 cloves of garlic (finely chopped) in the pan with some olive oil (or if you are using the minced garlic, add 2 tablespoons).

Let the garlic cook for a few minutes before adding your half kilo of prawns.

Now pour yourself a wine, turn up the stereo and patiently turn the prawns over, so they are sautéed in the garlic and turning a deeper orange colour.

Now its time to pour in the cream. I use half the tub but you may prefer more or less, depending how much sauce you like with your prawns.

Slowly stir. Adding a decent amount of salt & pepper.
Taste to find what’s right for you (this is the fun part).

After 5-7 minutes, bring the heat down so its barely simmering. The sauce will begin to thicken.

Now, either decide on rice or noodles for your base.

Since this recipe is primarily focused at the ‘undomesticated’ people of this world like myself, I suggest you buy the rice in the packet – 90 seconds in the microwave and voilà!

If you are more a noodle type person. Two packets of 2 minute noodles (without the seasoning) are good as a base and soak up the garlic sauce.

Turn the heat off under the garlic prawns and leave to rest while you polish off the rest of your glass of wine.

It is now time to serve up your garlic prawns. This recipe feeds two.

No one will want to kiss you for the rest of the week but at least you’ll scare away vampires.
